Like something out of a novel, a long-lost piece of art taken during WWII by the Nazis was found in a photo in a real estate listing in in Argentina. I read about it in WRE News which sites the Dutch newspaper AD reporting, “'Portrait of a Lady' by the Italian painter Vittore Ghislandi was part of the collection looted from Jacques Goudstikker during World War II. The painting of the Contessa Colleoni was not recovered after the war and is on both an international list of lost art and the official Dutch government’s list of Nazi-looted artworks."
Apparently the woman selling the home has not been willing to engage in a discussion of the piece. To take a look at the painting and read more, check out the article. Real estate is never dull!
