Foreign buyers have backed away a bit from buying residential properties in the US. Although they did buy 84,600 existing homes in the 12 month period ending in March 2023, that number is the lowest it has been since the National Association of Realtors began tracking this statistic in 2009.
In the UCSD/La Jolla area we historically have had international buyers - often from China - who purchase for their children who are attending school there or others who are looking for second or third homes. In Coronado we see Mexican buyers purchasing second homes, often luxury condos, where they can vacation through out the year. This is not an enormous market but one that cannot be overlooked, particularly in those neighborhoods. If you have the right property in the right area we can make sure those buyers see it.
