After a year where mortgage rates climbed to 4.75 % in December we have have seen them drop slightly in 2019. This week rates have climbed up slightly to 4.41 % for a 30 year fixed rate mortgage with .5 point paid for the rate. A year ago we were at 4.46 percent so things are slightly lower than a year ago. With home prices flattening out, and even declining slightly in some zip codes, it is a good time to buy.
