If you are a economics data geek you will love Orange County Register reporter, Jonathan Lansner (whose articles also appear in the Union Tribune.) His writing is clear on a subject that can be confusing. He just had a good piece on the possible root cause of 34 percent fewer homes sold in San Diego in March as compared to its 20-year average. He postulates that the Fed's efforts to cool an overheated economy "iced home sales." He also had suggestions on what would make the market move - 39% price cuts, 2.4% mortgages or 63% pay hikes. Or a mix of the trio. He is spot on with his assessment.
